that thought! It is a great idea. Life here is good. I mean Really
Good!
Medical facilities are important
as people age. We have Twin Cities hospital in Templeton and the
only Cardiac Care Center between Los Angeles and San Francisco
is in San Luis Obispo.
Getting acquainted is easy here.
People are friendly, welcoming. There is an organization called
Newcomer's of North County that is specifically for people new
to the area. There are monthly luncheons for women & men with
interesting local speakers. Monthly potluck suppers provide another
opportunity to become acquainted on a more personal level.
Continuing education is readily
available with both Cuesta College and Cal Poly. Emeritus classes
are offered in some subjects.
Recreational activities include
golf, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, Paso Robles Athletic Club,
Atascadero's Kennedy Fitness Center.
Cultural attractions abound A partial
list includes Paso Robles Art Association, Classic American Theatre,
The Pioneer Players, Pacific Repertory Opera, Pewter Plough Theatre
and the Mozart Festival.
Fine dining is close at hand and
there are many choices. Japanese, Italian, Thai, French, Spanish
Tapas, Mexican and South Western.
Climate considerations include about
360 days of sunshine. No snow in winter. Warm to hot summer days,
with cool nights. If it is 90 degrees during the day, the night-time
temperature will be 45-50, very comfortable for sleeping. No humidity.
Moderate winters.
Natural beauty blesses the region.
Rolling hills dotted with several varieties of Oak trees. The
Pacific Ocean is but a short drive and Big Sur is just north on
highway 1.
